Verónica Giraldo, Karol G’s sister, decided to talk about the illness she suffers from. Fans of the ‘Bichota’ expressed their support for her.
Karol G is successfully touring different cities in Europe, but she is always keeping an eye on her sister Verónica Giraldo, who faces a serious health problem every day.
Recently, the relative of ‘La Bichota’ received a medical report that left her with a bad taste in her mouth, because although she has treatment, everything indicates that her illness seems to be incurable.
Verónica, who became a mother, reappeared on her social networks and exposed the health condition she faces. According to what she said in a clip, the sister of the Antioquian artist was diagnosed with reactive arthritis, so she will have to live with a very delicate treatment.
In the past, reactive arthritis used to be called Reiter’s syndrome, a condition that usually affects the knees, ankles and feet. Inflammation can also affect the eyes, skin and the tube that removes urine from the body (urethra). In some people, symptoms come and go, not occurring until 12 months after their first symptom.
In the clip she shared on her social media, Verónica Giraldo said that “it is a disease that I have to have as a friend.” She also clarified that sometimes she is more active than others due to the same situation: “Some days I am fine, other days I am okay and other days I am unable to get out of bed,” she pointed out.
According to Giraldo, while recording the video, one of her ankles became swollen, as did one of her elbows, emphasizing that her sister called her physical therapist for help.
“It doesn’t mean that I’m going to be bedridden or that I’m not going to have a life, simply because I have an illness… I can’t afford it because I’m very young, I have a daughter, I have a husband, I have a family and I have a life,” she said.
On the other hand, Verónica assured that it is a very painful disease, which is why she decided to make the video due to the criticism she receives on her social networks for being at events such as concerts or trips: “When I can I do it, other times I am in bed taking care of myself so that another day it does not get worse,” she explained.
