Karol G will be honored as Woman of the Year at the Billboard Latin Women in Music 2024 gala, Billboard and Telemundo announced on Wednesday (May 29).

Just months after being named Billboard’s 2024 Woman of the Year in March, Karol will be recognized again on June 9 for her extraordinary achievements and unparalleled impact on the music industry. The show will air exclusively on Telemundo at 9 pm ET, and will be available simultaneously on the Telemundo app and Peacock.

In recent years, Karol G has become a dominant force. In 2023, she became the first female artist to top the Billboard 200 chart with a Spanish-language album thanks to Mañana Sera Bonito. She also kicked off her historic stadium tour in support of the album, which broke multiple records and included hits like “TQG” with Shakira and “Provenza.” In March, she won her first Grammy, taking home the award for best urban music album for Mañana Sera Bonito.

Additionally, Karol launched her Con Cora Foundation, established to continue the artist’s social work and mission of supporting women who are leaders of the home, youth at risk, children facing chronic or disabling illnesses, those who women in prison and post-sentence, as well as low-income women, face pregnancy during adolescence.

Karol G joins the previously announced list of powerful Latina women who will be honored this year. They are: Gloria Estefan with the Leyenda award, Camila Cabello with the Global Impact award, Ana Bárbara with the Musical Career award, Ángela Aguilar with the Musical Dynasty award, Kali Uchis as Rising Star, and Kany García with the Spirit of Change award .

The Billboard Latina Women in Music franchise recognizes the importance of Latina women in the music industry and honors those who have positively impacted Latin music and the industry in the past year. The 2023 honorees included Shakira as Woman of the Year, Ana Gabriel as Living Legend, Emilia as Rising Star and Thalia as Global Powerhouse, among others.
