The singer from Paisa shared details of what he experienced during his absence from the music world.

Balvin has positioned himself as one of the most important exponents of the urban genre in the country. The singer from Paisa has international recognition, as he has made several collaborations and has performed on the most important stages in the world.

His real name is José Álvaro Osorio Balvín, he was born in Medellín in 1985 and was one of the pioneering urban artists to internationalize and open the doors to other exponents such as Maluma and Karol G, which is why he is known as the ‘Prince of reggaeton’.

A few days after releasing his new album ‘Rayo’, the artist opened his heart and revealed intimate details of a process he experienced during his temporary retirement from music in recent months.

Following the release of his album, J Balvin spoke about fatherhood and the delicate mental health processes he has faced in recent years.

She first started by saying that she dreamed of having a girl and apologized to her son Rio for that: “I wanted a girl. Sorry Rio. I dreamed, it was of a girl and now that I have a son, I still dream of a girl.”

She also took advantage of the space to talk about mental health and what she has faced as an exponent of a genre that she considers sexist, for which she claims to have had bad times.

“We have to go deeper. I asked myself ‘what was going on?’ until I understood the part about the chemical imbalance and everything. Like when a person gets the flu and takes their medicine, another person’s blood pressure drops and they take their medicine. If there is a chemical imbalance in the brain, then it should be corrected,” said the Colombian.

In 2023 and the first months of 2024, the Paisa spent several months away from social media and the entertainment world, enjoying his family and away from any type of social pressure.
