“We call on the mediators to pressure the occupation (Israel) to adhere to all the terms of the truce, both on the ground and in the air“said the spokesperson for the Brigades, Abu Obeidawho acknowledged, however, that the group’s fighters “responded today to the violation” of the agreement by Israeli troops.
These episodes come on the fifth day of a temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamasafter more than a month and a half of fighting.
The agreement, mediated by Qatar, Egypt and the United States and which includes an exchange of hostages for prisoners and the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, came into effect on Friday morning and was scheduled to last four days.
Yesterday, shortly before it expired, Qatar announced a two-day extension, during which the three elements of the pact are maintained.
