India, nicknamed the ‘Princess of Salsa’, will receive important recognition this Sunday at the Billboard Latin Women in Music.

The renowned Puerto Rican salsa boat Indiaknown as the ‘Princess of Salsa’, will be awarded the prize ‘Pioneer’ next June 9 during the magazine special Billboard ‘Latin Women in Music’.

The singer expressed her gratitude in a statement: “I feel honored and very happy that the people of Billboard and Telemundo, whom I consider my family, make me the recipient of this award.

Since her first album ‘Breaking Night’, La India has been a key figure in salsa music, representing female empowerment and being a voice for Latinas in a male-dominated genre.

Her notable success has paved the way for other female artists in salsa. By fusing traditional salsa with elements of pop, house and other genres, she contributed to the evolution of salsa, inspiring future generations of artists.

In addition to their recognition, other artists such as Karol G, Gloria Estefan, Camila Cabello, Kany García and Sergio George will also be honored at the event, highlighting each one’s significant contributions to Latin music.
