British synthwave trio GUNSHIP just dropped the lyric video for their remix of Evanescence’s “Afterlife“While the original, from the soundtrack to Netflix’s Devil May Crycaptures that classic Evanescence sound, GUNSHIP home on the track’s dark, John Carpenter-esque keyboards and build from there, jettisoning walls of guitars for a dark, pulsing neon glow complete with electronic drums. As always, Amy Lee’s soaring vocal remain the sterling centerpiece. Check out the 80’s-inspired video below.
Evanescence are currently at work on the follow-up to 2021’s The Bitter Truth. The album, scheduled to release in the first half of 2026, is produced by Grammy-winner Nick Raskulinecz (Deftones, Mastodon, Rush). Starting in June, the band will embark on a massive world tour with supporting acts Spiritbox, Poppy, Nova Twins, and K.Flay. They’all also play the newly revived Sick New World in Las Vegas on Saturday, April 25th.
