Grupo Niche celebrates the spirit and joy of La Arenosa with “Barranquilla is fashionable”, a musical tribute within the framework of Carnival.

Within the framework of the celebration of Barranquilla Carnivalthe legendary Niche Group presents his new single ‘Barranquilla is in Fashion’, a composition of Jose Aguirre that exalts the spirit, joy and strength of one of the most emblematic cities in Colombia.

With an infectious melody, festive choruses and a deeply emotional narrative, the song portrays the experience of Niche Group upon arriving in Barranquilla and visiting its most representative places. From the Magdalena River and Bocas de Ceniza to the Gran Malecón, the Metropolitan Stadium and Barrio Abajo, with nods to emblematic expressions of Carnival such as La Guacherna, the traditional night parade that begins the festivities, the song becomes a musical journey through the Barranquilla identity.

‘Barranquilla is in Fashion’ It is a declaration of love to La Arenosa, its people and its growth. Through verses full of feeling and pride, the band thanks the affection it has historically received in the city and praises the happy, hard-working and visionary character of the people of Barranquilla. “It is a tribute to the city, its progress, its people and the emotion we feel every time we arrive in Barranquilla,” says the group.

The single premiered live on Saturday, January 17, 2026 during La Lectura del Bando del Barranquilla Carnival 2026at the Romelio Martínez Stadium, an event that marked the official start of the party. The song thus joins Grupo Niche’s repertoire as a celebratory anthem, which connects the salsa tradition with the vibrant energy of Carnival and reaffirms the deep link between the group and Barranquilla, a fundamental square in its artistic history.

The group began its Niche Disco Tour 2026 on January 6 in Puerto Morelos, Mexico and is currently nominated for a GRAMMY in the category Best Salsa Album (or Latin Tropical Album) for Clásicos 1.0, a production that honors the history and legacy of maestro Jairo Varela. Added to this is his recent nomination for Premio Lo Nuestro 2026 in the Collaboration of the Year – Tropical category for the song “La Tierra del Olvido (Salsa Version)”, together with Carlos Vives, a song that celebrates his roots and proudly projects Colombian music to the world.
