The European Union joined this Friday USA, Egypt and Qatar in his call for a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas at the meeting scheduled for August 15 in Doha either Cairo with the aim of implementing it without further delay.
This was announced on the social network X by the High Representative of Foreign Affairs of the EU, Josep Borrellin a message in which he stressed that such an agreement would also “will pave the way for regional de-escalation.”

“EU joins Egypt, Qatar and the United States in their call to urgently conclude an agreement for a ceasefire and the release of the hostages. We reiterate our full support for their mediation to put an end to this unbearable cycle of suffering.“, wrote the head of European diplomacy.
The president of the association also joined this initiative. European Commission, Ursula von der Leyenwho stressed that a ceasefire is “the only way to save lives, restore hope for peace and ensure the return of the hostages.”
“Therefore, I strongly support the efforts led by United States, Egypt and Qatar to help achieve the peace and stability that the region needs”wrote the German on the same social network.
In a joint statement signed by the US president, Joe Biden; its Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah al-Sisiand the emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thanithe three countries stressed that already “It is time to provide immediate relief to both the suffering people of Loop as well as the suffering hostages and their families.”
The mediators stated in the document that they are prepared to “submit a final bridge proposal to resolve the remaining implementation issues in a way that meets the expectations of all parties”without detailing any point.
The proposal put forward in May defined a first phase that would consist of six weeks in which there would be a complete ceasefire, Israeli troops would be withdrawn from all populated areas of the Fringe and to release several hostages, including women, elderly people and wounded, in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
