The director of the State Information Service of Diaa Rashwan, who acts as spokesperson for the Egyptian Government, assured today that her country has received “positive signals” as a mediator that the truce period could be extended in “another day or two.”

“Intensive Egyptian contacts are currently being carried out with all parties to extend the period of truce between the Israeli and Palestinian sides for one-two more days”he claimed Rashwan it’s a statement.

He explained that Egypt has received “so far positive signs from all parties to expand” the truce, what it would mean “the release of more detainees in Gaza (referring to hostages) and Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.”

Today is the second day of temporary truce and in which the agreed exchange of hostages for Palestinian prisoners is expected to continue.
