DREAM THEATERtitans of progressive music and Grammy® winners, return with their sixteenth studio album, «Parasomnia«. The album is the first with the vocalist’s iconic lineup James LaBriethe guitarist John Petruccithe bassist John Myungkeyboardist Jordan Rudess and the drummer Mike Portnoy from “Black Clouds & Silver Linings» from 2009. The news about this latest album comes after the recent announcement of the band’s 40th anniversary celebration tour.
«Parasomnia» will be released in February through his longtime record label, Inside Out Music/Sony Music. The album has been produced by Petruccidesigned by James ‘Jimmy T’ Meslin and mixed by Andy Sneap. Hugh Syme returns once again to lend his creative vision to the cover art. From the opening theme «In The Arms Of Morpheus» until the end «The Shadow Man Incident«, DREAM THEATER returns with a collection of songs that showcase what has earned the band a loyal following for four decades. With a duration of 71 minutes, «Parasomnia» takes the listener on a musical journey that has become synonymous with the band since the beginning of their career. «Parasomnia» is a term for sleep-related disorders such as sleepwalking, sleep paralysis, and night terrors. Songs like «Broken Man«, «Dead Sleep«, «Midnight Messiah” and “Bend The Clock» are based on the album’s title themes. With the excitement surrounding the band’s reunion at a fever pitch, DREAM THEATER will embark on a world tour. An Evening with Dream Theater 40th Anniversary Tour 2024 – 2025 It will be the first tour since the return of the drummer Mike Portnoy to the formation with the vocalist James LaBriethe guitarist John Petruccithe bassist John Myung and the keyboard player Jordan Rudess. The tour will begin on October 20 in London, England, at the O2and will end on December 22 in Santiago de Chile. The North American leg of the tour is scheduled for February 7 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and will run through March 22, ending in the band’s hometown of New York.
