William Omar Landrón, better known as “Don Omar” congratulated the famous urban singer, Raymond Ayala “Daddy Yankee” for turning 47 years of life today, through a publication on the social network Instagram.
“Happy birthday to The Big Boss, @daddyyankee. Raymond, I hope this year brings you peace, health and much joy. “Let’s celebrate big, King Daddy!” expressed Don Omar in the caption of the publication that shows several iconic photos and videos of both sharing the stage in the past.
In response, The Big Boss commented on the post, expressing his gratitude for the congratulations: “Thank you William. God Bless You in all your ways!
End of rivalry
Last year, both artists announced the end of years of rivalry and controversies after making peace in a friendly conversation.
Through a message published through social networks, Don Omar confirmed that he had a conversation with Daddy Yankee in which they closed their controversies and he wished the best to his colleague who is now on the paths of Christianity.
“We closed the book that kept the best chapters of our controversial rivalry. Thank you for your words and for listening to mine that came from the heart too. I wish you the best for you and your family. Thank you for your competitive spirit and admirable discipline, but even more so, thank you for what you did for our music. Thank you for collaborating and for competing because I did it with a titan. I am left with the good memories, the laughter, the dreams together and with the desire for one last round with such a great opponent. We will see each other again soon because I owe you a hug and thank you in person. Meanwhile, long live King Daddy,” wrote the urban exponent.
Since the beginning of the urban genre, both exponents had their friction over various issues. In 2015 they performed the Daddy Yankee vs. Don Omar in which they came out even more divided and years later Don Omar claimed that Ayala’s team turned off his console during one of his presentations.
