Don Omar Breaks the Silence with Words of Admiration for Daddy Yankee

In a moving gesture of reconciliation, Don Omar has decided to break his silence and dedicate some emotional words to Daddy Yankee, who recently announced his retirement from the stage after an outstanding 30-year career in music.

Through an open letter titled “Letter to the Gender that Made Me Who I Am,” Don Omar shared a nostalgic photograph of both artists in their beginnings, remembering the days when they conquered the world of reggaeton together and earned the title of “The Big Boss” and “The King”, respectively.

In his reflections, Don Omar highlighted the importance of mutual respect from the first day they met, being two leaders who took Puerto Rican urban music to international stages. The “Dile” performer addressed the past controversies that pitted them against each other in a dispute for the title of “king of reggaetón,” even leading them to exchange “tiraderas” and distance themselves for a considerable time.

“Bad conversations that corrupted good customs and, above all, the lack of God in our hearts,” Don Omar expressed in his letter. “To the genre that I love so much and that made me what I am, I tell you the following: there is no taste of victory if you fight without honor.”

This reconciliation between two reggaeton icons marks the closing of a chapter of rivalry that at the time kept fans expectant. Daddy Yankee’s decision to retire from the stage to embrace a new stage dedicated to Christianity has generated a wave of farewells from the artistic community, and Don Omar’s message adds to the expressions of respect and admiration towards “The Big “Boss.”
