It’s not every day you hear rap icons on mosh pit-inducing dubstep tracks, but Crankdat and Juicy J are here with their heavy-hitting collaboration, “Open The Pit.”

The pair recently debuted the single together at LA’s Hollywood Palladium, where Crankdat sold out a doubleheader in which he said he “accomplished the biggest goal [he] had set for 8 years.”

The bass music heavyweight, who is gearing up to debut an ambitious stage setup in 2025, provided a fittingly frenzied atmosphere. He then intensified the anticipation to a fever pitch by playing “Open The Pit” at North Coast Music Festival and Lost Lands.

The track operates like this: while Juicy J hypnotizes us with the line, “When you hear this song you gon’ open up the pit,” Crankdat brings about that prophecy with an emphatic dubstep drop.

“This song has been three years in the making and getting Juicy J on it was a dream come true,” said Crankdat. “Along with the record we are also releasing a music video that has been a labor of love to plan out and help create, and I can’t wait for everyone to see and hear it.”

The music video is inspired by Grand Theft Autowhich is sure to have the chronically online asking, “We got Crankdat GTA before GTA 6?”
