Cosmic cathedral: The union of Neal Morse (Transatlantic), Chester Thompson (Genesis), Phil Keaggy (Glass HARP) and Byron House (Robert Plant’s sessionist, Dolly Parton, among others) recently announced the release of your debut album Deep WaterApril 25, 2025 through Insideoutmusic.
The band is delighted to launch a preview of their new album, the single Time to Flywhich can be heard below:
In this regard, Neal Morse states: Time to Fly It comes from our Jam Sessions and was a bit improvised. Even voices along the verses. What Groove! Chester and Byron marked the rhythm and Phil and I were inventing things on those bases and created that the result was exaggerated!
Byron House comments: I remember loving the way in which the rhythm and the different sections of Time to Fly They combined. The metal wind instruments section and choirs add special touches. Jaco Pastorius was my original inspiration when I chose the bass as my instrument. It was a joy to play with me under Fender Fretless this piece.
Phil Keaggy adds: This song really has swing. I agree with Byron that the metal wind instruments and choirs really result in a great melody! I chose my Fender Strat as a rhythmic guitar and my old and reliable Zion guitar for the main only. This song is lyrically rich and optimistic! It ranges from different and attractive musical genres. Neal, Chester and Byron are first -class musicians and have attraent songs! Kudos and also Jerry Guidroz made a great mixture.
How is an album different from what is usually expected of one? An answer is to work with musicians who, in addition to having experience and recognition worldwide, plant a few seeds, move away and see what happens. For the project Cosmic Cathedral And your debut album, Deep Water (2025), is exactly what Neal Morse did, joining Chester Thompson, Byron House and Phil Keaggy. As Keaggy comments: It was an honor to be invited and included in the creation of the project of Deep Water With Neal, Chester and Byron.
Much of the album was created in Jam Sessions In which Jerry Guidroz, Morse audio companion for a long time, joined the best parts of the sounds, so that, about this, Morse and the rest of the band transform them into great and epic songs, since they, as already said, were created in these sessions, including the lyrical.
The result of this was a kind of feeling Grooverowhich Mors calls how An album in which the Prog, Yatch Rock and The Beatles are foundwith an inexplicable jazz fusion: These men really have Groove, even if they are playing progressive things, it has an air to Steely Dan, but when Phil and I started singing sounds like The Beatles! In Deep Waterthe New Revelation section is based on a JAM that became something that could fit into a Sting album. So, there are a lot of variety.
Keaggy adds: This album is a banque of imagination and letters that come from the heart. In my opinion, this is one of the albums that stand out most in my musical career!
And as Chester Thompson states: I am super anxious that people listen to this album. There was great communication between all musicians. It is one of my favorite projects among which I have been part! And coming from someone who played with Genesis and Frank Zappa is a strong statement!
