Christian Nodal broke the silence surrounding the controversy that has been generated by his relationship with Ángela Aguilar. The artist from Sonora, who is in Spain as part of his ‘Pa’l Cora’ tour, gave an interview before his show at the Wizink Center in Madrid, where he spoke about several topics, the main one being the alleged love triangle with Ángela Aguilar and Cazzu.

After two years of dating, Christian Nodal and Cazzu announced their separation in early May. The artists issued a joint statement stating that the breakup was on good terms and that, separately, they would both focus on their daughter, Inti.

However, a month later, Christian Nodal and Angela Aguilar made their romance public. “It is not a new relationship, it is the continuation of a story that life made us pause to be able to grow and miss,” Aguilar’s daughter told Hola! USA. Her words fueled speculation that she was the third wheel in Nodal and Cazzu’s relationship.

After the publication of the interview and their first photographs as a couple, Christian Nodal and Ángela Aguilar remained the main topic of conversation on X for two weeks, where both were the target of criticism.

Now, a month after the height of the controversy, the Sonoran spoke out about the media storm that his relationship has generated. Nodal stressed that, unfortunately, this is not the first time he has had to deal with media harassment:

“I think I make very good music. What I’m interested in is that people like my music. Two, three years ago, I hit rock bottom, because of the social media thing. It took a lot of therapy, like a year of depression, anxiety, very bad things that were happening.”

Christian Nodal refers to his media-driven separation from singer Belinda, to whom he was engaged. After making their breakup official, the Sonoran was accused of exercising digital violence against the singer, who confirmed that the relationship became toxic in the song “Cactus,” where she launches several darts towards her ex.

The Sonoran admitted that this experience plunged him into a deep depression that led him to therapy. Thanks to seeking help, he has been able to better handle the digital and media interest in his relationship with Angela Aguilar. He affirms that he has the maturity to not let the criticism affect him:

“I think that there is a very nice balance in life where I really don’t stop living because of what people say, nor am I interested in opinions. When people decide to believe any theory… I am no longer there to clarify rumors,” said the Mexican composer, who has dates in Marbella, Barcelona and Milan, Italy, ahead of him.
