Mikael Stanne (voice) comments on the lyrics:
«This song is about the endless need for validation and misguided desperation. It is based on some dramatic experiences I recently had that ended with my imprisonment. “It explains his darkness in all its loveless splendor.”
Markus Vanhala (guitar) gives more details:
«’The Coldest Heart‘is one of the first songs written for SKYLINE CEMETERY and it is an obvious tribute to ‘The Green Man‘, but in a very gentle way. “It’s a heavy hit for a gloomy summer in 2024.”
