Amid speculation from fans regarding his absence on the 2024 Ultra Music Festival lineupCarl Cox has released a statement to set the record straight.

Cox is embedded in the history of Ultra, one of the world’s biggest and most popular electronic dance music festivals. He’s performed a staggering 19 times since his debut in 1999, including a spectacular “Hybrid Live” performance at last year’s festival.

Cox took to social media today to shed some light on this year’s vacancy, citing his desire to perform at a number of international events instead. The techno legendwhose performances on the stupefying RESISTANCE Megastructure are considered one of Ultra’s biggest draws, also revealed that he’s been confirmed for a headlining set at the festival’s 2025 edition.

“Although I’ve loved playing at Ultra Miami 19 times over the past 22 years, I won’t be doing it this time as I’m taking the opportunity to play at some incredible events around the world,” Cox said. “But don’t worry – I’m cooking up something extra special for my headlining set at Ultra Music Festival 2025, where we will be celebrating their massive 25th anniversary!”

Although they won’t see Cox lighting up the RESISTANCE Megastructure this year, fans can catch him at Miami’s M2 club less than two months later on May 3rd, he added.
