““There are various types of two-state solutions (…) So I think there are ways in which this could work.”he asserted.
The American president spoke by phone this Friday with Netanyahu, a day after the latter expressed his opposition to the creation of a Palestinian state as part of an eventual post-conflict scenario in Gaza.
Biden was asked by reporters if he would be open to limiting the military aid the US sends to Israel because of comments Netanyahu made, to which the president responded: “I think we can reach an agreement.”

This Friday was the first telephone conversation between both leaders in almost a month. His last call was on December 23.
The White House has assured that the call did not occur because of comments Netanyahu made about the creation of a Palestinian state, although it has made it clear that Biden continues to believe that the establishment of two States is the only solution to the conflict.
Apart from opposing the creation of a Palestinian state, Netanyahu refuses to allow the Palestinian National Authority (ANP), which governs parts of the occupied West Bank, will regain control of the Gaza Strip when the Israeli offensive ends.
