ALLEGAEONa melodic technical group from Colorado, presents their new single, «Iridescent«, accompanied by an absolutely maddening video. The band has recently finished working on their seventh full-length album with producer Dave Otero (Flatline Audio).

The new and biting song follows his single «Inhumation«, released last fall, and serves as a precursor to the band’s next full-length album. While “Inhumation» had more of an air of «Damnum«, «Iridescent» reminds more of «Elements Of The Infinite«. Musically, both songs were written with an overwhelming sense of anger; «Inhumation» in the form of a soundscape e «Iridescent» in a pure and frenetic guitar form.

The vocalist Ezra Haynes comments:

«Originally recorded during the same session as our last single, ‘Inhumation‘, we wanted to launch ‘Iridescent‘ to give our fans some love before we fully ship out our next album cycle. This standalone single is cut from the same cloth of the era’Elements Of The Infinite‘ of ALLEGAEON. Perfect timing too, since we are about to leave in the North American part of the Cancer Culture Tour with Decapitated, Speticfleshand Kataklysm this month of April. It will be great to see how the new material is received. Here we are, about to celebrate ten years since we published the song ‘1,618‘. We still get asked today about our subgenre wheel, or ‘Where’s the crab?’ “I’m looking forward to the next ten years of glizzies.”

The guitarist Greg Burgess Add:

“The music of ‘Iridescent‘ arose from my enthusiasm to work with Ezra. We had been exchanging ideas, rekindling our songwriting chemistry, and this song seemed to write itself. The theme of the accompanying video evolved much like our video for ‘1,618‘. Five guys sitting around talking about stupid things until we start laughing. Then the question arose: «What if…? Anyway, I hope people like hot dogs and stupid videos.

Many things have happened with ALLEGAEON since the 2022 launch of «Damnum“, an album described as a “triumph” of maximalist modern metal and “technically dazzling but always enslaved by the uplifting power of melody.” First, the Colorado band – which formed in 2008 – welcomed back the original singer Ezra Haynes as permanent vocalist in November 2022. The quintet then wrote and recorded two new songs – «Iridescent» and «Inhumation«- with the producer Dave Otero.

“Both songs are really aggressive, much more so than anything I’ve done with the boys,” he says. Haynes. «Since my departure in 2015, ALLEGAEONhad grown a lot musically, as well as introduced a more ‘personal’ style of lyrics to the fold. “This was a very cool change for me.”

Creative freedom is key both in the new songs of ALLEGAEON as in his revitalized formation.

“During my previous career in music, I was always moderately satisfied because death metal was just aggressive in nature,” he reflects. Haynes. “Having the ability to really spread my wings in the ‘introspective’ sense really made me ALLEGAEON will gain my total acceptance.

The producer Knoll has worked with the band for fifteen years, and guitarist Greg Burgess explains that, “Dave always provides a comfortable work environment, incredible ideas, and a career-long understanding of what he has made of ALLEGAEON, ALLEGAEON«.

Among the group’s six albums are collaborations from Bjorn Strid of Soilwork (voice) and Benjamin Ellis of Scar Symmetry. ALLEGAEON has seen his albums in the Top 10 of the Billboard US Hard Rock, US Rock, US Indie and US Sales charts, the songs «1,618” of “Elements Of The Infinite«; «Of Beasts And Worms” of “Damnum“, and “Parthenogenesis” of Apoptosis earning millions of collective streams from fans around the world.

Yeah “Damnum” is what happens when “absurdly gifted musicians reach a state of unwavering confidence,” as one journalist stated, the band’s next chapter, back with Haynesand with unlimited and renewed creativity, it will be unstoppable.
