Masterfully displaying his most confident self yet, barnacle boi has finally unveiled his latest EP, Introspect.

Spanning six tracks in length, Introspect marks the prominent Wave artist’s debut on the rising vibe.digital label. barnacle boi has built a formidable career as an independent artist since his first official release back in 2015, and his new EP will only further help him ride the momentum.

Introspect opens with a bang by virtue of its festival-ready title track, which explodes with a mix of powerful bass, experimental sound design and captivating vocal samples. Boosting the classic barnacle boi sound, the project’s lead single, “Love Hotel,” then takes us on a journey through a dystopian, interstellar ambiance.

Introspectcontinues with “In The Dark” and “U Were Everything 2 Me,” two vibrant productions that effortlessly bridge the gap between Wave, trap and bass for an otherworldly result. Meanwhile, “Stubborn” brings a contemplative pause as arguably the most atmospheric track of the bunch before the EP reaches its climax with “Sorry,” a garage-influenced production that further peels back the layers of barnacle boi’s production expertise with its nostalgic vocal samples and eerie soundscapes.

Take a listen to Introspect below.

Prevalently known for his emotive, bass-driven compositions, barnacle boi has cemented himself as a powerhouse throughout the past few years, with his distinct production flair having been refined during an influential stint in Denver, Colorado.

In addition to embarking on a massive nationwide tour alongside fellow Wave pioneers Skeler and brothel. Earlier this year, barnacle boi has performed at popular festivals such as Imagine, Wakaan, Elements and Sound Haven as well as a landmark set at Red Rocks in support of ZHU and SIDEPIECE.
