The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahucelebrated this Sunday the territorial expansion that the Israeli Army continues to attack in Gazawhere it already controls around 64% of the territory, around 11% more than since the start of the ceasefire seven months ago.
“In Gaza we no longer control 50%, but 60%. We are subduing Hamas. “We know exactly what our mission is, and our mission is only one: to ensure that Gaza no longer represents a threat to Israel,” the president added, according to a statement from his office, at the beginning of a government meeting this Sunday in Jerusalem.

With the ceasefire agreement, in force since last October 10 despite the fact that it does not prevent Israel from attacking almost daily, Israeli troops retreated to the so-called Yellow Line, controlling from there around 53% of Gazan territory and overcrowding a population of two million people in the rest of the space.
To this line, which is not physically demarcated for Palestinians, the so-called Orange Line was added at the end of March 2025. This new demarcation, as detailed by the NGO Gisha in a recent statement, then served to delimit an area of 174 square kilometers, almost 48% of Gaza, in which the movement of international organizations and NGOs is prohibited without prior coordination with Israel.
But as this NGO explained, on March 8, 2026, about five months after the ceasefire, the Israeli Army sent international organizations an updated map of the Orange Line through WhatsApp; deviating from Yellow by 11% and increasing the area under Israeli control.

“This expanded the areas where humanitarian access is subject to Israeli coordination to about 64% of the total territory of the Strip,” Gisha adds of an area whose access is prohibited to any ordinary Palestinian.
“Organizations that wish to transfer personnel or transport aid to these areas must obtain an (Israeli) permit, a process that delays and even hinders their work,” denounces this NGO.
