Spain asks the United States not to interfere in the euthanasia of the young Noelia Castillo

“Spain is a serious country, with a solid health system and a framework of rights that protects and cares for all people, including those who decide to ask for help to die with dignity in contexts regulated by law, evaluated by clinical committees and endorsed by the courts,” added the head of the Ministry of Health.

Noelia is the 25-year-old Spanish girl with paraplegia who spent the last months of her life fighting judicially against her father, who wanted to keep her alive against her will, and received euthanasia this Thursday in a Spanish hospital.

With the message in X, García refuted the request made by the Trump administration to investigate Noelia’s deathwho agreed to euthanasia under the Spanish right-to-die law.

As reported by the New York Post, officials reported under anonymity that the State Department instructed the US Embassy in Madrid to gather information about how the case was handled and the decisions that allowed the procedure to be carried out.
