The Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyread this Saturday in a press conference via videoconference from Qatar a report from its intelligence service detailing the names of US military bases and other Middle Eastern facilities targeted by Iran that have been photographed by Russian satellites in recent weeks and months.
One of the facilities that Russian satellites have taken images of according to Ukrainian intelligence is the Anglo-American naval base of Diego García, in the Chagos Archipelago of the Indian Ocean, against which, according to official US sources, Iran launched two ballistic missiles on March 20.
The Ukrainian president also mentioned among the targets allegedly photographed a gas production in Kuwait and an unspecified point in the Israeli city of Haifa.

Türkiye, Qatar and Saudi Arabia are other countries where Russian intelligence has taken images of strategic facilities.
Some of these photographs were taken this week, according to information provided by Zelensky.
“Every day I read about facilities in Ukraine photographed by (Russian) satellites. Now I read about facilities in the Middle East photographed by satellites. Every time we know that they have photographed a facility in Ukraine we know that we have to protect it because they are planning some kind of operation to destroy it,” Zelensky said. “Everyone knows why those photos are taken,” he added.
The Ukrainian president had already said on previous occasions that Russia is passing intelligence information to Iran to help the Islamic Republic hit targets of the US and its allies in the region. Official US sources cited by US media also say they are aware of this fact.

Zelensky added that all the leaders he has met since Thursday on his trip to the Gulf countries – which has taken him so far to Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Qatar – understand that Russia helps Iran “at a minimum” with intelligence information.
“Everyone understands that Russia helps Iran, at the very least, with intelligence,” he says of the leaders he met on his tour.
The Ukrainian president read the intelligence report on the activity of Russian satellites received from his secret services when asked how the lifting, by the United States, of some oil sanctions on Russia to stabilize the international market after the disruptions caused by the war in Iran, affects Ukraine.
