After more than 50 years as pioneers of psychedelic Amazonian cumbia, The Blackbirds They enter a new chapter in their history, not as a reinvention, but as a recognition of a trajectory that has deeply influenced Latin American music and that today connects with new audiences in different parts of the world. Far from reinventing itself, the group reaffirms its identity and projects it onto an international stage.
Graduated The World Meets Los Mirlosthe album brings together artists from different generations and genres who add to the creative universe of the group from admiration and respect. Collaborations include LA LOM, Rubén Albarrán (Café Tacuba), 311 and Guaynaa, among other great surprises that will bring new perspectives to the sound of Los Mirlos. The project functions as a meeting point between cultures, styles and generations, demonstrating the validity and depth of a legacy built over decades.
The starting point of this project will be the launch of ‘‘You are a liar’collaboration with Stereo Bomb which will premiere on February 13. The song serves as a cover letter for the album and proposes a sonic crossover between the tropical psychedelia of Los Mirlos and the contemporary energy of the Colombian project, drawing a musical bridge between Peru and Colombia from a shared root.
