“This balance is not definitive. “This is a new estimate that may still evolve depending on the identification of bodies.”adds that bulletin.

The new toll of 1,200 deaths, mostly civilians, was initially mentioned in a statement from the Foreign Ministry.

“Hamas terrorists murdered 1,200 people in cold blood and kidnapped 240, including babies, children, women and the elderly.”says the statement.

Since the attack on October 7, the most serious since the creation of Israel in 1948, the country’s authorities have carried out a complex job of identifying the bodies found in different places in the south of its territory.
