This decision comes after a musical career that spans more than three decades and more than 150 performances on his latest tour, called “I miss you tour.” Montaner, the patriarch of the Montaner clan, intends to dedicate more time to writing, recording and enjoying time with his grandchildren, Indigo and Apolo.

“In my life, which I never thought, I have been on tour for more than 30 years, I have not stopped a single year; I have never stopped and I think it is time for me to dedicate myself to writing, recording, planting flowers “To hug my grandchildren, to see them grow and not miss anything,” he said.

However, despite his temporary retirement from the stage, Ricardo Montaner does not say goodbye to his musical career. The 66-year-old singer is working on a new album in collaboration with renowned Mexican artist Carlos Rivera, with plans to release it in mid-2023.

The single “Yo no fumo,” released last March, belongs to this upcoming album and is already a resounding success.

This next album will include approximately 10 or 11 songs and will explore various genres, including bachata. Montaner has mentioned that he will focus on the theme of love and the difficulties that people face in this regard, which will resonate with his followers who enjoy his emotional songs.

“Faith rejuvenates you. And I truly feel that that works. When you leave space in your daily life and space in your life to dedicate it to faith and to grow a little internally, that has to be noticed,” he recently expressed.

Ricardo Montaner, with a musical career that dates back to the 1970s, has become one of the most influential singer-songwriters in the Spanish-speaking world.
