The president of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, will attend the investiture ceremony of the president-elect of Donald Trump, scheduled for next Monday, January 20 in Washington, as announced this Sunday by the Ecuadorian Government.

For the Noboa administration, the attendance of the Ecuadorian president at the ceremony of Trump’s new presidential term “reaffirms the commitment to strengthening of bilateral relations with USA“, according to the Ecuadorian Executive in a statement.

Noboa must travel to Washington after participating in the presidential candidate debate for Ecuador’s general elections, which is scheduled for Sunday, February 19 in Quitowhere the participation of applicants is mandatory.

The Ecuadorian president, born in Miami (United States), has traveled to the North American country on numerous occasions since assuming his presidential mandate in November 2023, both on official visits and on personal visits.

Ecuador has become in recent years one of the main partners of USA in Latin America, and bilateral relations are going through their best moment in the last two decades, focused above all on security cooperation to combat the security crisis in the Andean country, caused by the violence of organized crime.
