For anyone in the nu metal community who’s bummed out or burned out over recent events surrounding Linkin Park, here’s an easy one. There’s a gourmet Korn burger now!

Kuma’s Corner, the Chicago-founded eatery that specializes in “American bistro fare”, has based their Burger of the Month for September on Korn. Called simply “Korn”, the burger features Kuma’s Angus beef patty (or your choice of protein), cilantro lime aioli, Korn’s own Here To Slay Hot Saucehabanero jack cheese, roasted poblano corn relish, cotija cheese, and tajin. Sounds spicy and kinda messy, to me; I give it 5 bagpipes out of 5 on description alone.

This is not the first band to get one of Kuma’s Corner’s Burgers of the Month. The concept seems to go all the way back at least to 2017, when Kuma’s Corner created a Meshuggah burger. Other bands to receive Burgers of the Month over the years have included Megadeth, Motograter, the doom metal band Khemmis, Type O Negative, and Cannibal Corpse. There’s also an order of fish tacos inspired by, ah, Nashville Pussy.

The Burger of the Month series is also undergirded by a nonprofit of the month series, lest we all assume this is just about banging heads and accelerating heart disease. Perhaps appropriately, to go along with Korn’s BOTM Kuma’s Corner has chosen to support NAMI Chicagoa mental health support and advocacy group. You can pledge a donation to Kuma’s Corner’s team for the NAMI Walks 5k, all of which goes to support NAMI Chicago’s work. Or if you live in the area, you can simply gorge yourself on the Korn burger and donate that way.
