Thousands of people with Palestinian flags and slogans against Israel They marched this Saturday Madrid and other Spanish cities to ask that “the genocide in Palestine”.
In Madrid, some 25,000 people, according to the government, walked between the Atocha and the square Cybelein the center of the Spanish capital.

They were behind a large banner with the colors of the Palestinian flag that asked the Spanish government to “End of the arms trade and relations with Israel”.
The protesters carried signs that asked in English “Stop genocide”( “Stop the genocide“) in Gaza and chanted slogans like “Where they are, they cannot be seen, the sanctions against Israel.”
The protests, called by the platform Solidarity Network Against the Occupation of Palestine under the motto “Let’s stop the genocide in Palestine”, took place in several other Spanish cities, such as Barcelona, Valencia or Seville.
Spain has been one of the most critical voices of Israel within the European Union during the conflict, following an attack by Hamas from October 7 in Israelwhich left some 1,140 dead, in its majority civilians.
Since then, Israeli operations in Loop left 24,927 dead, mostly women and minors, according to the Ministry of Health of Hamas.
The position of the left-wing Spanish government caused a diplomatic dispute, and Israel even called its ambassador for consultations last November before “the scandalous comments” of Pedro Sanchez.
The socialist leader had said he had “frank doubts” that Israel was “complying with that international humanitarian law” in the face of “the images” of “boys and girls who are dying” in Loop.
The Israeli ambassador returned to Madrid in January.
